Active Ageing Programme at Bangor

Stay Active, Stay Independent

Active Ageing Programme

Join us Monday to Friday for a welcoming mix of wellbeing, health, and fun through our Active Ageing Programme. Designed specifically for adults aged 50 and over, these classes and activities are a great way to stay active, improve mobility and fitness, and support your overall wellbeing in a friendly and social environment.

Whether you’re looking to keep moving, try something new, or simply enjoy meeting new people, our sessions offer the perfect opportunity to stay connected, build confidence, and enjoy an active lifestyle at your own pace.

Parkinson's Aqua and Social Sessions

As part of Neurodiversity Week, we’re launching a new weekly programme at Bangor Aurora Aquatics & Leisure Complex to support people living with Parkinson’s.

Sessions take place every Thursday from 4.45pm–5.30pm and combine gentle water-based exercise with time to relax and socialise in a supportive environment.

Each session includes:

  • A 45-minute aqua exercise class with gentle activities like walking in water, stepping, and stretching

  • A social session with refreshments after class to chat and connect with others

Booking is required. To join the 12-week course, book in person or call 028 9127 0271 so we can take a few details before you begin.

Spaces are limited, so book your place today!

What is Active Ageing?

The programme includes a mix of activities for all fitness levels, from running and sports to walking, swimming, pilates, gym sessions, dance, and seated circuits to help improve strength, balance, and wellbeing.
